Mary Caruana is a vibrant and indispensable member of our team at Max Engel & Co. She joined us in 2022 as a secretary in our Commercial Department and quickly established herself as a linchpin in our day-to-day operations. With a background as colourful and diverse as her personality, Mary brings a unique perspective to her role.

Mary’s role extends far beyond typical secretarial duties. She’s often the first point of contact for many of our clients, and her warm, approachable demeanour immediately puts people at ease. What truly sets Mary apart is her comprehensive knowledge of many subjects. As she often jokes, she’s “swallowed a dictionary.” This wealth of information makes her an excellent conversationalist and an asset in gathering and understanding complex information for our cases.

Beyond her professional skills, Mary’s adventurous spirit adds a dash of excitement to our office life. From her experiences as an ‘injury dummy’ for the RAF’s air-sea rescue arm to her current hobbies of motorbike riding and spending time with her son, family, friends and German Shepherd companions, Mary always has an exciting story to share.
