Max Engel proudly supported the Monday Club, run by The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation, at a recent community event held at The Swan and Helmet in Northampton.

The session drew a fantastic turnout of local residents for an open and supportive discussion on key Private Client legal issues, including Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Probate, and Estate Planning.

What we covered: Private Client legal services explained

During the event, Niamh Green made sure everything ran smoothly whilst Rebecca Walker and Jade Atkins-Valentine provided clear and practical guidance on a range of important legal topics, including:

  • Wills and Estate Planning in Northampton
  • Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) advice
  • Probate and Estate Administration support
  • Trusts and protecting the family home
  • Care fee planning and long-term care considerations
  • Mental capacity and decision-making issues

These are some of the most important legal matters affecting individuals and families across Northampton and the wider community. Having the right advice early can make a significant difference when planning for the future.

Making legal advice more accessible in Northampton

Events like the Monday Club are vital in making legal services more approachable and accessible. Too often, people delay seeking advice on wills, probate, or care planning because the process feels overwhelming or unclear.

By bringing professional guidance directly into the community, we can help ensure people feel informed, supported, and confident in making decisions about their future.

It was particularly encouraging to see such strong engagement from attendees, with thoughtful questions and open conversations throughout the session.

Supporting local people and community organisations

It was also a privilege to witness the outstanding work being delivered by The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation. Their ongoing community support services, including their local food bank, continue to provide essential help to individuals and families in need, delivered with compassion and dignity.

Thank you to the Northampton community

Thank you to everyone who attended, asked questions, and shared their experiences. It was a pleasure to meet so many people and be part of such a welcoming and engaged community event in Northampton.

Supporting local communities is central to my work, and I remain committed to helping individuals access clear, practical legal advice when they need it most.
